Now, more than ever, video is a crucial component of fundraising efforts for non-profit organizations.
With the onboarding of the new administration, we are facing a lot of uncertainty when it comes to the future of federal grant allocations, and in time, state and municipal grants may also be impacted.
The non-profits that we have been blessed to work with have hired us to make, for the most part, 2 kinds of videos: 1) Org Videos (think Brand videos for non profits), and 2) Appeal Videos. The latter are videos that tell the story of one client or participant, who has benefitted from the services provided by that non-profit.
These 2 types of videos pack a heck of a lot of information and impact into just several minutes, and have proven to be incredibly effective when it comes to fundraising events, and elevating the amount of donations.
However, the Org Video and the Appeal Video can also be leveraged any time you are approaching a new potential donor, or courting an existing donor, foundation or corporate sponsor. They can also be used to cast a wide net on social media to ensure you are capturing diverse and younger demographics of new potential donors, as well.
The thing that video does so well that a brochure, pamphlet or impact statement can't touch, is evoke emotion. With a video you can show, not tell, the culture of your amazing and hard working staff. You can convey the quiet pride and improved quality of life of the client or participant that you are highlighting.
The viewer is invited to spend time while watching a video, and through words, visuals and compelling music, they feel a connection with your org that no other medium can match.
This is why in 2025 and beyond, adding video to your fundraising arsenal is a must for every non-profit. I invite you to reach out to me at jeany@treeswingvideo.com to learn more!
